Eseosa Sule looks set to leave West Bromwich Albion and join Scottish Premiership side St. Mirren.

The promising striker signed for the Baggies in 2023, joining from Celtic on a multi-year deal.

Sule's contract with Albion runs until 2027, and this summer was always going to be an important one for him.

The 20-year-old made his debut for the Black Country Club in the 2024-25 season, but was limited to just the one appearance and was sent on loan to Motherwell last summer.

The Scot by nation had a horrid time with injury at Fir Park, returning to James Morrison's side and managed six minutes off the bench in the 0-0 draw to Millwall in April.

However, that looks set to be Sule's last ever appearance for West Brom, with him now likely to head back to Scotland and join St. Mirren.

Details on Eseosa Sule's 'expected' West Brom exit

As reported by the Daily Record this Friday, Sule is set to join St. Mirren on a three-year deal.

Buddies boss Craig McLeish has been desperate to add to his frontline, and a deal has now been agreed for the Baggies youngster.

It's said that the proposed sale includes a fee with several add-ons for the forward.

Sule is "expected" to be given the green light to leave The Hawthorns, and he could even make his debut for the Paisley side in the Premier Sports Cup against Dumbarton on Saturday.

St. Mirren's current head of recruitment, Gavin Miller, was at Motherwell when the latter signed Sule on loan last season.

The player reportedly had multiple offers in Scotland, England and the Middle-east, but was particularly struck by McLeish and wants to join him at St. Mirren.

Baggies fans may be wondering why they have let their top talent leave so soon without giving him a real chance.

Why West Brom might have let Sule leave

While it's not known what the specific fee is for Sule, the Baggies are likely making a profit on his expected sale.

The striker was always going to find it difficult to breakthrough in the forthcoming season, especially after the arrivals of other young forwards in Jimmy-Jay Morgan and Barney Stewart.

Not to mention that West Brom still want to sign another striker, as Sule may have felt it was best for him to seek a new home.

A loan exit could have been on the cards, but after his injury struggles last season, Albion may not have wanted to waste any more time with him.
