West Brom could pounce on Hull City firesale as £6m outgoings needed ASAP
West Brom could try to capitalise on Hull City's new financial issues, despite the latter's promotion to the Premier League.
The Tigers earned promotion back to the promised land after beating Middlesbrough in the play-off final, something that Albion can take confidence from.
Sergej Jakirovic led his side back to the Premier League, despite Hull being under a transfer embargo that prevented them from spending money in each of the last three windows.
However, Hull now have to raise £6million in sales by the end of June to make sure they stay within Financial Fair Play rules.
Shilen Patel will be looking for any cheap deal he can get this summer, as the Baggies are set for another season of their own financial issues.
However, West Brom could see this as a chance to strike Hull at a time when they are surprisingly vulnerable, and get some quality players to The Hawthorns for cheap.
West Brom could look to sign Mason Burstow and Kasey Palmer
If Hull do not raise £6m by the end of June, they could face the risk of getting points deducted for their first season back in the Premier League since the 2016-17 campaign, according to Hull Live.
It would be a catastrophic start to their season, and it would mean they would be desperate to hit their sales target quickly.
Mason Burstow is said to be one player who could be made available for transfer, as the striker has just returned to the Tigers following an impressive loan spell with Bolton.
The 22-year-old grabbed 18 goal involvements in 45 league games for Bolton, and his age shows there is still room to improve.
A new number nine is needed for the Baggies, but that's not the only area that will be addressed, as they could also look to sign a number 10.
Kasey Palmer is another player who could leave the MKM Stadium to help Hull raise the needed funds, as the attacking midfielder has a wealth of Championship experience.
Abu Kamara could be a player for West Brom to gamble on
There is a hope that Mikey Johnstone will be back and fit in time for pre-season.
But even if he is, the Baggies need extra players who can offer quality and depth from the flanks.
Abu Kamara is expected to be part of Hull's firesale, and given the 22-year-old's potential, West Brom may take an educated gamble in an attempt to sign him.
Though the Englishman hasn't made a big step up since moving to the Championship, he grabbed 21 goals and assists in League One with Portsmouth previously, and could hit them numbers again with the right club.
