West Bromwich Albion youngster Ollie Bostock has shown his ability away from The Hawthorns yet again.

The 19-year-old winger is one of the Albion's most highly-rated young prospects.

Last season saw the Welsh youth international named as West Brom's Young Player of the Season.

He turned out nine times for the Baggies in 2025-26, scoring once and providing one assist to boot.

Unable to hold down a first-team role in B71 just yet, the decision was made for him to head out on loan this summer.

National League side Boston United won his signature until January, and they may well be looking to extend it after Saturday.

What did Ollie Bostock do for Boston United vs Southend?

One of the tell-tale signs of a top young player, especially an attacker like Bostock, is whether they're two-footed or not.

The ability to be equally as strong with both feet is a rare and hugely valuable asset, both as an individual and for the team's tactical potential.

Bostock is primarily right-footed, but as he showcased on Saturday, he's no weaker on his left.

Under a minute into Boston United's National League clash with Southend, the Baggies loanee fired the Pilgrims into the lead.

Shifting the ball from right to left, Bostock hit a venomous left-footed effort whilst moving parallel with the Southend goal from a central position.

Taken from all of 25 yards, the ball flew past the Southend goalkeeper and into the back of the net.

Boston would go on to lose the game 2-1, but word will have travelled back to The Hawthorns about the quality of his goal.

So, what is Bostock's contract situation at West Brom?

When did Bostock last sign a West Brom contract?

That was Bostock's first goal for Boston United, in what was his fourth appearance for the non-league side.

Naturally then, he will need to continue scoring goals and showing his quality if he's to have a first-team breakthrough at West Brom.

September last year saw the teenager pen a new contract at The Hawthorns.

He signed a two-year deal with the Baggies, meaning he's currently set to become a free agent at the end of this season.

But this goal should reaffirm to West Brom's decision-makers just how much ability and potential resides in his boots.

Therefore, it's surely worth tying him down once again ASAP in order to prevent him leaving for nothing next summer.

If he does, that could prove very costly down the line based on the quality of his Southend strike.
