West Bromwich Albion are closing in on the signing of Chelsea prospect Jimmy-Jay Morgan.

The Baggies are in for a summer overhaul under James Morrison, with several incomings and outgoings expected.

Albion have already started their transfer plans by re-signing Max O'Leary, while the decision to let Daryl Dike, Jed Wallace and Joe Wildsmith leave the club was announced.

West Brom are still in talks with Karlan Grant over a contract extension, while Josh Maja is weighing up his options after being offered a new deal at The Hawthorns.

However, it seems like the Black Country Club are set on adding to their forward ranks, regardless of whether Maja and Grant stay put.

That's because the Baggies are close to announcing the signing of Morgan from Chelsea.

West Brom to complete final details for Chelsea's Jimmy-Jay Morgan

There was a report to suggest that Albion were in advanced talks to sign Morgan from Chelsea on Friday, and it seems a deal has progressed rather quickly.

According to a well-respected news source EyaWeGew and WestBromXtra via X, Albion have already reached an agreement with Chelsea for the striker.

A transfer for the 20-year-old is now regarded as a done deal, as all that's left is for final details to be sorted, with an official announcement now imminent.

It's said that West Brom will be "busy" this summer, as Morgan is one of several targets that Shilen Patel could be signing.

Barring any late dramatic twists, Morgan will be a West Brom player, and his arrival could be announced as early as Sunday.

Morgan's Peterborough form will excite West Brom

Morgan spent last season on loan with Peterborough United in League One, and his impressive performances have caught the attention of the Baggies.

The Englishman grabbed 17 goal involvements from 39 games in all competitions in what was his first full season in senior football.

He did spend some time on loan with Gillingham in the second part of the 2024-25 campaign, but has somehow already shown signs of major potential.

It's not known how much Albion could be spending on the versatile forward, though a low seven-figure fee would seem realistic, as further details over his move are set to follow.
