West Brom News understands that Myhre is headed to The Hawthorns after the Baggies won the race for the 27-year-old.

Aune Heggebo is set to be reunited with his former team-mate and fellow Norwegian compatriot, with West Brom set to pay up to £3.1million for the midfielder.

They were able to offer the player a "significantly larger salary package" than the likes of Spanish side Elche and other European clubs who were all interested in the player.

The Baggies could confirm the signing within days, but it doesn't bode well for Mowatt's future.

The 31-year-old has a host of Championship clubs interested in his signature, with Albion said to be open to selling him.

It already appears that Morrison favours Ousmane Diakite and Molumby over him, and so Myhre's impending arrival will only make his playing chances more bleak.

There's clearly a player in Mowatt, hence the interest, but it feels like his journey in the Black Country may be coming to an end soon.

A move to another Championship side feels likely.

Ahead of his move to The Hawthorns, Myhre got a hero's send-off after SK Brann's 3-2 league victory over Rosenborg on Sunday, being hoisted in the air by teammates.

SK Brann urged fans to get to the stadium earlier to show appreciation for the midfielder, who is now set to join West Brom.
