West Brom have continued their busy summer by tying down the future of Ousmane Diakite.

The 25-year-old has faced his fair share of criticism, but silenced doubters with his performances under James Morrison.

The Mali international cemented himself as an important part of the Baggies' side as they avoided relegation with relative ease.

He has now been rewarded with a new three-year contract to keep him in B71 until the summer of 2029.

That news came just hours after the surprise signing of Matt Ingram from Oxford United was confirmed.

The keeper became West Brom's fourth signing of the summer already, but their business doesn't look like slowing down.

West Brom already have next target in mind after Matt Ingram deal

There was surprise in the Black Country when a deal was confirmed for the 32-year-old keeper.

He looks set to compete with Max O'Leary for a role in between the sticks, while Josh Griffiths has been strongly linked with a move to Stoke City.

Ingram has joined Barney Stewart, Carter Pinnington and Jimmy-Jay Morgan through the door, while Diakite, O'Leary and Callum Styles have also penned new deals.

West Brom are now moving onto their next port of call in the transfer market.

EyaWeGew reported via X on Wednesday that the Baggies are still expecting another goalkeeper signing this summer.

That points towards Griffiths' move to Stoke being imminent, with a new shot-stopper seemingly in the pipeline in B71.

Which goalkeeper could West Brom sign next?

It was certainly a positive move to get O'Leary to put pen to paper on new terms after his short term deal came to an end.

He was the number one to see out last season, but could soon face new competition if a new option comes in.

Alex Palmer has long been linked with a return from Ipswich Town and that could be more likely after their promotion to the Premier League.

His wages could a stumbling block in any talks, although negotiations are yet to get underway according to reports.

There are other options who have been linked with other Championship clubs who could do a job for the Baggies.

Someone like Sam Tickle at Wigan Athletic could be a positive pickup, but there is no reported interest at this stage.

Whoever Morrison and Co. go after, it will be interesting to see how they fit in alongside O'Leary and Ingram.
