West Bromwich Albion are hoping to sign Southampton's Cameron Archer and Crystal Palace defender Danny Imray.

The Baggies have been linked with the English striker and right-back as they look to strengthen James Morrison's squad.

After the 22-year-old's stint on loan at the Albion, they already know what they will be getting from him.

Archer and Imray are two players who could make an immediate impact at The Hawthorns.

The Black Country outfit's recruitment policy under Bilkul Football continues to prioritise "young and hungry players", according to BBC Radio WM Sport journalist Steve Hermon.

That doesn't mean the West Midlands club are overlooking the need to add experience to their squad, but it remains to be seen whether they can get deals over the line for the Southampton and Palace stars.

The BBC Radio WM Sport reporter has also corroborated that Imray is a concrete target for the Baggies, but they face competition for his signature.

While some sections of the fanbase in B71 might be confident about getting the double-transfer over the line soon, the harsh reality is they aren't close to signing the two.

It's encouraging to see Bilkul investing in young talent, but they can't afford to miss out on the likes of Archer and Imray.

There's an evident need for reinforcements in the senior group at the Albion after the departure of Jed Wallace, Karlan Grant and Josh Maja.
