West Brom new manager round-up: Rob Edwards contact made, Ten Hag shock emerges

West Brom continue the difficult search to replace Carlos Corberan following his surprise move to Valencia last month.

The Spaniard’s departure from The Hawthorns was very swift, almost as quick as the collapse of Raphael Wicky’s appointment [John Percy], who was even set to attend the FA Cup clash against Bournemouth.

A number of figures have now been linked with the vacant job at The Hawthorns, though Chris Brunt continues to lead the charge, with some supporters wanting him to remain permanently.

Here is a round-up of some of the names linked with the West Brom manager job.

Rob Edwards contacted after Luton Town sacking

Rob Edwards is now out of work after parting ways with Luton Town, with Matt Bloomfield already being confirmed as his successor at Adams Park.

According to DOOD, Albion have made contact with the 42-year-old’s agent, with the view of the former Wolves defender becoming Corberan’s replacement.

Tony Mowbray interested in Hawthorns return

Tony Mowbray is reportedly open to a return to The Hawthorns, as per Alan Nixon, having been at the club between 2006 and 2009, becoming a much-loved figure amongst the passionate fanbase.

While the 61-year-old awaits his doctor’s diagnosis of his current health issues, he could be considered for a surprise move if given the green light this week [WBA Report].

Supporters, of course, have come flooding forward with emotional reactions, but it remains to be seen if the Baggies would consider him for the job after 10 months away from football.

Erik ten Hag emerges as shock contender in Hawthorns manager race

Rather surprisingly, Erik ten Hag’s odds of becoming Corberan’s successor have been slashed since Bet Victor placed him at 33/1 at the beginning of January.

The former Manchester United boss has now dropped to 16/1 after being sacked by the Red Devils in October, though few fans believe this could be a potential appointment.

Sean Dyche becomes West Brom favourite despite holiday update

Sky Bet now have Sean Dyche as the favourite to take over the vacant job at The Hawthorns, having just been sacked by The Friedkin Group at Everton.

The former Burnley coach is 9/4 to become the new Baggies boss, much to the frustration of Albion fans, though that seems unlikely to happen after the latest update about his holiday.

According to West Brom Xtra, the 53-year-old is currently enjoying his time away from football after being relieved of his duties at Goodison Park despite his representatives being contacted.

The search for a new manager continues.
