West Brom set to miss out on 14-year first as supercomputer predicts result vs Blackburn
West Bromwich Albion are back in action already when they travel to face Blackburn in the Championship on Easter Monday.
The Baggies won consecutive games with clean sheets under James Morrison in March, who is spearheading the team’s push to avoid relegation.
Although the international break came at a bad moment for West Brom, they managed to secure a point against Wrexham in Friday’s 2-2 draw.
With six games left to play, the Baggies will feel comfortable that they can avoid the drop as they sit four points above the relegation zone.
West Brom face Blackburn in a game which will be closely fought by both sides, as a supercomputer has predicted the outcome of the match.

Blackburn predicted as favourites vs West Brom
Blackburn have lost just two of their last 14 home league games against West Brom (W7 D5), going down 2-1 in both December 2011 and August 2021.
However, Michael O’Neill’s side have scored just 18 goals in their 20 home league games this season (0.9 per game).
The only league campaign in which they’ve averaged less than a goal per game at home was in 1970-71 (20 in 21 games).
According to Opta‘s supercomputer, the Baggies are set to taste defeat for the first time in four matches.
| Likelihood | |
| Blackburn win | 46.5% |
| Draw | 26.5% |
| West Brom win | 27% |
Following their 1-0 win in August, West Brom are looking to complete just their second league double over Blackburn in the 21st century after the 2011-12 Premier League campaign.
However, their chances of achieving this for the first time in 14 years look incredibly slim, especially given how the hosts have performed in recent weeks.
They have picked up seven points in their last three games against Millwall, Middlesbrough and Birmingham City, which is incredibly impressive.

Although Blackburn are only two points above West Brom in the table, they’ll prove to be a tough test for Morrison’s side at Ewood Park.
What is West Brom’s record on Easter Monday?
As the Championship season reaches its climax, each point is more important than ever, which is why West Brom are finding form at the perfect time.
However, in seasons gone by, they haven’t fared too well on Easter Monday.
West Brom have won just one of their last 11 league games played on Easter Monday and are winless in seven since a 2-1 win at Norwich.

It’s obviously a pretty shocking record that must be corrected at Ewood Park, as a win would be a huge boost for their survival hopes.
