Eseosa Sule should make his first start of the season in West Bromwich Albion‘s clash with Millwall on Friday.

The 20-year-old has been on the substitutes bench for the last two matches, draws against Wrexham and Blackburn, but did not make it on the pitch.

Aune Heggebo’s goals have dried up lately, while the likes of Josh Maja and Daryl Dike do not offer enough to start the clash at The Hawthorns on 10 April.

Sule may be the difference maker as the Baggies look to stay in the Championship and avoid relegation to League One.

West Brom have been famed for bringing academy graduates into the side in recent years, and the former Motherwell loanee could be the next man up.

Sule is one of West Brom’s most promising talents, and the data proves that he is ready to make an impact at the senior level.

He has featured for 418 minutes in Premier League 2 so far this season, with six goals from a total of 10 shots, per Fotmob.

He also scored a hat-trick in his last outing, the 5-4 Premier League Cup quarter-final win over AFC Bournemouth’s Under-21 side.

In six matches, he has recorded a 72.4 per cent pass accuracy and created five chances for his teammates.

The Scottish gem has completed 63.6 per cent of his dribbles and took 21 touches in the opposition box, while also winning five fouls.

Defensively, he has helped out, with three tackles, three interceptions and eight recoveries for Leigh Downing’s side.

Why a first-team chance makes sense for Sule and West Brom

Sule will eventually need to be utilised in the first team, his numbers are too good not to earn an opportunity.

If he does not get his chance in the near future, then he will surely push for an exit to try and get regular game time elsewhere.

He can’t be any worse than Maja or Dike have been this season, and they are both set to leave at the end of the season, so Albion need a new option up top.

Sule could save them a fortune if he could get up to speed with the second-tier now, as they would only have to bring in one new striker if he adapts quickly and shows he can handle the challenge.
