West Bromwich Albion's Brayann Pereira was on top of his game against Wrexham on Tuesday.

The Baggies came from behind to beat the Red Dragons 2-1 late on at the Racecourse Ground, improving their place in the Championship play-offs.

Max O'Leary was unable to stop a long-range strike from Kieffer Moore just after the hour mark, before late goals from Isaac Price and Aune Heggebo helped Albion to victory.

Pereira was given another start, with Nolan Galves set to miss the rest of the season through injury, but the former had perhaps his best game yet for the Black Country Club.

The right-back joined James Morrison's side in the summer after a £1million agreement was reached with NEC Nijmegen.

But will that sum turn into another bargain signing for West Brom after the much-needed win against Wrexham?

Why West Brom could be onto a winner with Brayann Pereira after Wrexham

Pereira gives Morrison three options; he can play right-back, wing back or centre-back.

However, with Galves now sidelined with a significant knee injury, Pereira is likely to be West Brom's main right-back for the remainder of the campaign.

Luckily for them, it appears that Shilen Patel has spent his money well.

Pereira earned a 7.5 FotMob rating against Phil Parkinson's side, his best score for the Albion since joining.

The 23-year-old had 88 touches in the match, boasting an impressive 88 per cent passing accuracy.

He attempted a whopping five dribbles at a 40 per cent completion rate, playing seven passes into the final third; proving he can give the Baggies another attacking outlet.

Pereira won all three of his aerial duels, winning six ground duels and making five defensive contributions in total.

He won't get the shouts for it because the goalscorers stole the headlines, but he made his own case to win the Player of the Match award.

Jimmy-Jay Morgan is an example of where West Brom have already struck gold this summer, but Pereira could be another one added to the list.

Pereira given 'encouraging' praise elsewhere

West Brom fans have reacted well to Pereira's performance, as he would have been unfortunate to have been on the losing side after his display.

The Shropshire Star handed the Congo international a 7/10 rating, writing: "An encouraging performance from the right-back, who got up and down the flank well. Got into some decent positions in the final third."

Pereira had a nightmare debut after he was sent off against Derby County, but has pretty much redeemed himself already.

If he can do more of the same throughout the season, West Brom will be just fine.
