Jimmy-Jay Morgan perfect, 2/10 in nightmare - Every West Brom signing ranked so far

West Bromwich Albion have enjoyed a solid start to the new Championship season.

It was a summer of change at The Hawthorns, with James Morrison leading a chance in transfer strategy.

Younger profiles were targeted, and they've helped massively, just look at Jimmy-Jay Morgan.

West Brom are currently sitting fifth in the Championship, only three points behind leaders, Swansea.

Despite defeats to Wolves and Middlesbrough, the Albion have stayed in the promotion race while getting rid of tricky fixtures.

After a busy summer, West Brom News have ranked every signing so far.

Matt Ingram - 5

There's no other ranking this could be apart from bang in the middle.

He won't play in the Championship ahead of Max O'Leary, although he did feature against Newcastle in the Carabao Cup.

Conceding three in a tight defeat at St James' Park, it's likely he won't be seen until the FA Cup comes back around.

Conor Townsend - 6

This was a real feel-good transfer, with the left-back returning to the club he left for Ipswich after their first promotion to the Premier League.

Suffering a gutting ACL injury while there, he returned to offer great experience to those around him, especially younger new signings.

That's exactly his role at this stage, nothing more.

Nolan Galves - 6

The Frenchman arrived with a good reputation behind him from Rodez, picking West Brom over Southampton.

After a good start, replacing Danny Imray, he'll be out for an extended period with an injury.

It's always hard to see something like that happen.

Brayann Pereira - 2

It couldn't have been more of a nightmare start for the Congo defender.

Coming on for his debut at Derby, within 34 minutes, Pereira had picked up two silly yellow cards and was sent off.

He missed one game, returned against Wolves and sat on the bench for the poor defeat at Molineux.

Toby Collyer - 7

It hasn't been an electrifying return to The Hawthorns, but this was such a clever signing in more ways that one.

After impressing for Man United in pre-season, there was Premier League interest from the likes of Hull.

Morrison and the Albion were instead able to step in and win that race.

Collyer is a trusted pair of hands in midfield, and he's only going to get better with more time.

Rabby Nzingoula - 7

The young Frenchman came in as an unknown from Strasbourg, but he's quickly making a name for himself.

Powerful and rangy, Nzingoula has mainly been used off the bench as an impact player.

West Brom have transformed their midfield, letting the likes of Alex Mowatt, older and less mobile, leave and replace them with other strengths.

With limited starts, the midfielder needs to get to that stage before his rating can be any higher.

Felix Horn Myhre - 6

It's been quite telling that Myhre has been on the bench for recent trips to Wolves and Derby.

While a great signing, there's a feeling that Morrison hasn't found his best position yet at The Hawthorns.

Playing in advanced midfield, the change to two strikers has seen him fall victim, while others are preferred.

Kareem Tunde - 5

It's been a very slow start for the Spaniard, but that is likely to be expected.

At only 21, it's hard for a young player with no experience of English football to come in and make a difference immediately.

Tunde has only started one Championship game in his four appearances, but is yet to catch the eye.

With three weeks training in this extended international break, he is only expected to get better.

Barney Stewart - 3

It's been everything that Stewart likely didn't expect when leaving Falkirk.

After his breakthrough year in Scotland, he was expected to be in contention for an international call, but he couldn't be further from that now.

For some reason, it's simply not clicked.

With zero starts in the Championship and only 76 minutes of action, he'll be desperate to get his opportunity when we return next month.

Will that come over Morgan or Aune Heggebo, though?

Jimmy-Jay Morgan - 10

This is as close to a perfect signing as you'll find.

After shining on loan at Peterborough, the Baggies made the move to sign him permanently from Chelsea for up to £4million.

That isn't all at once, but his three goals and three assists has him someway to repaying that already.

Morgan is that player who always has something in his locker, and can win points by himself, a trait that Morrison will love.

If West Brom are going to even get close to promotion this season, it will be mainly off his shoulders.
