West Brom in advanced talks for Kareem Tunde signing - here are the stats behind his rise at Levante

Kareem Tunde is set to become West Bromwich Albion's latest venture into the European market.

Of course, West Brom have already made the signings of Rabby Nzingoula and Nolan Galvez from French football this summer.

Both of these players fit the young, high-potential profile that Albion have clearly been putting an emphasis on this summer such as Jimmy-Jay Morgan.

Tunde also falls into this category, with the 21-year-old having already played 22 times in La Liga for Levante.

A right winger by trade who can also operate down the left, the Baggies will hope he's another who they can develop and make a sizeable profit on in the future.

If that is to be the case, then it will see West Brom turn a very pretty penny on the Spaniard indeed.

How much are West Brom are set to pay for Kareem Tunde?

Given their well-documented financial challenges of late, West Brom chiefs have really backed James Morrison in this summer transfer window.

The rewards of which are already being reaped, as his side remained perfect in all competitions to start 2026-27 after the 3-1 win over Burnley.

Morrison is growing his reputation as being a brilliant coach when it comes to how he handles and provides opportunities for young players.

This will only see more and more of these players want to come and play for him at The Hawthorns, and Tunde appears to be the latest.

Sky Sports reporter Anthony Joseph claims via X on Monday evening that Albion are closing in on a deal for the Levante winger.

It's claimed that the two clubs are in "advanced talks" over a £4.3million move, with that being split up via a £2.6m initial fee and £1.7m in add-ons.

Tunde is contracted at Levante until 2029, with the Spaniards shrewdly inking him to a fresh extension in March of this year.

So, just how impactful has Tunde been for the La Liga outfit, and what do his numbers suggest he'll bring to West Brom?

Where Tunde led La Liga rivals in 2025-26

Last season was Tunde's breakthrough campaign at Levante, having been with the Valencia-based outfit since 2022.

Having previously spent time in Barcelona's fabled La Masia academy, it was clear from an early age that he was a player with plenty of talent.

Levante have provided him with the stage to go and kickstart his senior career though, and he turned out 21 times for them in La Liga in 2025-26.

As per FotMob, no right winger in La Liga last season averaged more than Tunde's 1.18 interceptions per 90 minutes, showing he's clearly a high-energy, industrious player.

He also ranked well above average among his positional rivals per 90 for his 3.23 defensive contributions, 1.81 tackles and 5.74 duels won.

Attacking-wise, his underlying numbers weren't great, but that can perhaps largely be explained by not only his age and inexperience, but the fact Levante finished 16th last term.

For instance, he ranked in the bottom 37.8 percentile for his 1.65 shots per game, whilst also placing in the lowest 4.4 per cent for his 0.47 chances created per 90.

So, there is clearly some work to do getting more attacking production out of him, but his defensive numbers show why he'd soon become a Hawthorns favourite.
