Why Toby Collyer transfer to West Brom now looks imminent
Toby Collyer could be returning to West Bromwich Albion from Manchester United soon.
The Baggies have been heavily linked with a move to re-sign the 22-year-old from the Red Devils this transfer window.
Last summer, the Albion agreed a loan deal at Old Trafford for the midfielder, but after he failed to secure regular minutes and picked up an injury, he was recalled in January.
It looks like Collyer did enough at The Hawthorns to convince people of his qualities and a deal with Man United now feels imminent.
Bilkul Football and Shilen Patel are building a young and talented squad for James Morrison in the West Midlands, and the England youth international could be a part of it.
Steps have already been taken to acquire the youngster's signature and the latest update in B71 should be encouraging.
Toby Collyer transfer latest at West Brom
West Brom want to sign Collyer permanently this time around and have made an approach for the Man United youngster.
The midfielder has one year remaining on his contract at Old Trafford and it remains to be seen how much the Red Devils will demand for him.
According to veteran journalist Steve Tudgay, founder of Full Throstle, it's "looking more and more likely" that the Baggies will sign Collyer.
Morrison will surely be looking to add more depth to his squad ahead of deadline day.
The Baggies have one of the smallest squad sizes in the Championship, and the Man United player would be a much-needed addition, especially after Alex Mowatt's departure.
James Morrison to push for two more transfers at The Hawthorns
West Brom will hope they don't pick up too many injuries this season, considering their lack of options around the pitch.
Apart from Collyer's potential arrival at The Hawthorns, Morrison will surely have other transfer priorities before the window closes.
One area that may need strengthening is the goalkeeping department, with Max O'Leary and Matt Ingram the only senior options right now.
Morrison could also do with more options out wide, with Mikey Johnston the only player really capable of providing a threat from the wings apart from Harry Whitwell and Isaac Price, who aren't traditional wingers.
It's been an encouraging start for the Black Country outfit, but they can't let that cloud their judgment over their transfer needs.
