West Brom predicted XI vs Wolves: Rabby Nzingoula sacrificed in three James Morrison changes

James Morrison will pick his most important West Bromwich Albion starting lineup yet at Molineux on Sunday.

The Black Country derby is back on the agenda again, as West Brom head to the home of their bitter rivals.

Wolves have endured a mixed start to the 2026-27 season, winning three, drawing twice and losing once in the Championship.

Albion, on the other hand, enter the game in excellent form, unbeaten in four league games and having tasted just one defeat from the first seven.

To some degree, however, none of that will matter much to supporters if the Baggies don't get a positive result against Wanderers.

Ahead of Sunday's 12pm kick-off, West Brom News predicts how Morrison will set his team up against Wolves.

James Morrison could restore defender to West Brom XI vs Wolves

West Brom's 1-1 draw with QPR last time out saw Morrison take the opportunity to rest some of his key players.

That was surely done with this Sunday's Black Country derby in mind.

Max O'Leary can once again keep his place between the sticks, whilst Callum Styles and Conor Townsend may once again be the full-back duo.

Nat Phillips has been superb for the Baggies in central defence this season, and might earn his seventh start of the season at Molineux.

However, Chris Mepham perhaps didn't do quite enough to keep hold of his starting spot from the visit of QPR.

As a result, we think George Campbell could come back into the side to replace the Welshman on Sunday.

So with a slight change made to the backline, will Morrison make further adjustments further up the pitch?

Morrison may bring winger back into Albion XI vs Wolves

Moving into midfield, Morrison deployed a bank of three across the middle against QPR.

However, we think he could revert back to a midfield two against Wolves, with Jayson Molumby potentially being one to keep his place.

Possibly operating next to him in the engine room could be Toby Collyer, who has some crucial big-game experience with Manchester United under his belt.

On the left wing, Isaac Price may once again drift out wider as opposed to his more attacking midfield role against QPR.

Down the opposite flank, Harry Whitwell could come in with Felix Horn Myhre possibly dropping to the bench.

The 20-year-old was an unused sub against QPR, and fresh off the back of signing a new long-term contract, he could be raring to go at Molineux.

Now we've just got the two striker spots to fill, and that would mean Morrison would have to sacrifice a midfielder that started against QPR.

Nzingoula could be dropped to give Baggies more cutting edge

Aune Heggebo was left as the lone striker against QPR, but he cut an isolated figure at the spearhead of West Brom's attack.

We think he could start once again in the Black Country derby, but possibly not without his strike partner Jimmy-Jay Morgan.

The in-form 20-year-old was benched last weekend, but his three goals and three assists in seven Championship games is sure to see Morrison want him on the pitch on Sunday.

Because of this, we think Rabby Nzingoula could be the midfielder who is dropped from the side in order to make way for Morgan.

The Frenchman wasn't at his best against QPR, and still only young and learning English football, he might not be ready for the demands of a Black Country derby yet.
