West Bromwich Albion beat Peterborough 2-0 in their final pre-season test on Saturday.

The Albion travelled to face the Posh at the Weston Homes Stadium, where they enjoyed another pre-season victory.

James Morrison played what looked to be very similar to a side that could feature in the Baggies' season opener in their Carabao Cup clash against Rotherham United.

Aune Heggebo opened the scoring in the second half, giving the Black Country club a much-deserved lead with a neat finish on the end of an Isaac Price cross.

New signings Jimmy-Jay Morgan and Barney Stewart both featured, with the latter coming off the bench to score the second thanks to some good work from the returning Mikey Johnston.

Morrison had plenty of food for thought from the match, as did West Brom fans.

How did West Brom setup vs Peterborough?

Harry Whitwell was given a start for West Brom, but apart from the youngster, it looked like a side that could be seen by Morrison as his strongest.

It looked like Price once again had the duty of creating from wide, similar to what he was told to do at the back end of last season, while Whitwell also offered width.

There has been discussion over whether Morrison would stick to his 4-4-2 formation or change it up over pre-season, but this was the biggest indicator that he won't be changing anytime soon.

There are, however, other changes that the West Brom boss could be about to announce.

James Morrison's captaincy choice

There have been big question marks about who West Brom's captain will be for the forthcoming season after the departure of Jed Wallace.

Morrison has dished about the armband this pre-season, but the latest decision saw him hand George Campbell the honour.

Given that it's so close to the season starting, it may be the biggest indicator of who West Brom's new skipper will be.

The American showed his sturdy-solid self as usual, and would most likely be the majority of Baggies fans' pick to wear the armband.

Tammer Bany mystery goes on

West Brom News gathered information that Tammer Bany was unfit to play versus Bromley, which is most likely the same reason why he was absent from the squad to face Peterborough.

It's clearly a make-or-break season for the 22-year-old, who has been nothing short of a transfer disaster since joining the club for £3.3million in the winter window of 2025.

He's managed just eight appearances since then, registering one assist, and many more headaches for Albion fans.

His situation doesn't seem to be getting any better either, which is a huge blow for the winger, who really needed pre-season to kick start his career for the B71 side.
