The players West Brom could look to sign in January amid shifting expectations
West Bromwich Albion's recruitment team will now shift their attention to the January transfer window.
The Baggies appear to have conducted one of the best summer windows in the Championship after making several shrewd additions to their squad.
Jimmy-Jay Morgan is the obvious standout, coming in for a small upfront fee of £1.3million from Chelsea, but other arrivals have also caught the eye at The Hawthorns.
The likes of Rabby Nzingoula, Kareem Tunde, Felix Horn Myhre and others have all settled well under James Morrison, and will hopefully only progress even further with time.
However, the Baggies did have other targets that they tried to sign but missed out on for one reason or another.
With that said, attention sharply turns to who West Brom may look to sign in the January window, with hopes now set on making the Championship's play-offs at the very least amid shifting expectations.
Attackers West Brom could look to sign in January
It was made no secret that Albion tried to pry another striker to The Hawthorns before the deadline, even with the likes of Morgan, Aune Heggebo and Barney Stewart all at the West Midlands club.
A move for Southampton's Cameron Archer fizzled out due to financial roadblocks, as the striker moved to Ligue 1 on loan.
However, West Brom were linked with a move for Brandon Thomas-Asante before the deadline, as he appears surplus to Coventry City's requirements.
The former Baggies hit-man was a well-liked figure when he was previously at the club, and had a season-best return for the Sky Blues last campaign.
Thomas-Asante could be available for loan come the winter window, and may even be up for sale at a cut-price deal if he continues to make an impact in the Premier League.
Liverpool's Jayden Danns was also a target for Albion, but the centre-forward was unable to secure a loan move away from Anfield.
The likelihood is that he will be available on loan once again in January, as Shilen Patel could look to bring the forward in as another option to bolster Morrison's frontline.
Two other players West Brom may rekindle interest in for 2027
Alex Palmer was heavily linked with a return to West Brom in the summer, with the shot-stopper currently far down the pecking order at Ipswich Town.
A move for the goalkeeper would heavily depend on whether Max O'Leary can keep his current form up, as he's started the season impressively for the Black Country Club.
Finally, another familiar face who could return is Jamaldeen Jimoh-Aloba, who, like Danns, was linked with a late loan move to The Hawthorns.
Jimoh-Aloba was unable to find a move before the deadline and could come back to West Brom for a third time as another option for Morrison, most likely off the bench.
