View: One change, Bartley still missing – Predicted West Brom XI vs Blackburn

West Brom are likely to still be without Kyle Bartley for their first home game under Steve Bruce, who is expected to make one change to the team.

The Baggies lined up in a new formation for their first game since Valerien Ismael was sacked against Sheffield United in midweek, but a first-half red card for Jake Livermore helped condemn them to a 2-0 defeat.

Now sitting in ninth place in the Championship table, they host playoff rivals Blackburn at Hawthorns on Monday night with the hope of earning much needed points and taking some away from a team also in the chase.

Sam Johnstone was recalled to the starting lineup for that game and will continue in the team once again for this one, with his position as number one not in doubt.

In defence, centre-back Kyle Bartley missed the game through illness and is likely to still be out for this game meaning Bruce will go with an unchanged back line.

Darnell Furlong and Conor Townsend are the first-choice full-backs, while Matthew Clarke was partnered by the returning Semi Ajayi in midweek and that will likely continue.

In midfield, captain Livermore is suspended following his red card so Adam Reach will drop into a deeper role alongside Irishman Jayson Molumby. That will allow Alex Mowatt to move into a more advanced role to support the attack.

Grady Diangana was recalled to the starting team and did fairly well before the red card forced him to be substituted at half-time and should get another chance.

Top scorer Karlan Grant will get the nod on the left hand side, while Andy Carroll will continue to lead the line on his own as the target man.

Predicted West Brom XI: Johnstone; Furlong, Ajayi, Clarke, Townsend; Reach, Molumby, Mowatt; Diangana, Carroll, Grant.
